VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 12, 2017, Taiwan Tourism Bureau hosted its exclusive #TaiwanNowBoarding event at Robson Square in downtown Vancouver. More than 300 attendees gathered to learn about cultural traditions and culinary practices within the vibrant heart of Asia. Immediately following the event, 12 lucky winners were chauffeured by limousine to Vancouver International Airport and boarded a nonstop flight to Taiwan for a fun-filled weekend.

As guests discovered at the #TaiwanNowBoarding event, there are more than 10 nonstop flights each week between Vancouver and Taiwan, making this treasured destination more accessible than ever. Attendees were also treated to a virtual biking tour, tasted signature bubble tea offered by Shiny Tea and enjoyed many more activities unique to Taiwan. Participants also celebrated Taiwan's recent honor of being named the best expat destination in the world, thanks to its breathtaking natural beauty, welcoming atmosphere and affordable cost of living, according to a 2017 InterNations survey.

To enter the instant trip sweepstakes, guests used the hashtag #TaiwanNowBoarding for a chance to win this special package that included: a three-night stay in a design hotel; round-trip flights between Vancouver and Taiwan aboard China Airlines; and a day tour in Taipei sponsored by Lion Travel, Silkway Travel, XO Tours, and Super Value Tour.
