  • IABC Hong Kong 2017 Conference on China: How to take China's communications industry to the next level

HONG KONG, April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- At the IABC Conference on China, on April 27, 2017 in Hong Kong, China's business and communications leaders, will come together to share their insights on the state of the communications industry in a Chinese-international context. They will discuss approaches for expanding multinational businesses in and outside of China, and working with Chinese and international leaders, as well as identifying practical next steps to advance business communications in China.

IABC Hong Kong President, Virginia Chi, said, "It is an exciting time to be a business communicator in China. China is a fast, dynamic and changing market. New technologies and communications tools have been rapidly developed and adopted, creating opportunities for the communications function to truly demonstrate its value to businesses. Nevertheless, with a fiercely competitive and noisy market place, it's increasingly difficult for businesses to ensure that their story is heard and accurately managed."

Senior communicators, academics, journalists and business leaders from institutions including BASF, Chinese University of Hong Kong, eBay, Emerson, Goldman Sachs, Link REIT, Rockwell Automation and Week in China are to share their outlook on China's communications profession.

Chi continued, "A growing number of Chinese companies are entering international markets, as well as foreign businesses looking to deepen their footprint in China. This dynamic opportunity creates an increasing and critical role for business communicators to play in cross-cultural communication, which can ultimately determine the success of this type of business activity.

"With a presence in Greater China for over thirty years and with more than 10,000 members around the world including senior communications executives from global Fortune 500 companies, the IABC is a leading voice of the communications industry and uniquely positioned to provide an open platform to discuss the state and challenges of China's professional communications industry in a regional and global context."

With representatives from in-house, agency, the media, digital, academia and youth, this IABC event will bring together different angles on the communications profession, to help give a balanced understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the communications industry in China.
