The opening of the route from Chongqing to Singapore is the first strategic achievement of China - Singapore cooperation, playing a significant role for bilateral governments and enterprises in deepening cooperation in key areas, such as financial services, air transport, transportation and logistics, information and communication technologies. On one hand, it further sets up and consolidates the air-bridge between China and Singapore, supplements and perfects the airline network of Singapore in China, making it extend beyond Chongqing to the west, northwest, northeast and mid-west parts of China, and solidly promotes bilateral in-depth development of the rich tourism resources and cultural exchanges. On the other hand, by providing transfer services for the mid-west, northwest and northeast parts from Chongqing to Singapore, it further highlights Chongqing as a hub linking the north and the south and connecting the west and the east, thus playing a positive role in building up Chongqing into a new generation of air hub.
