Since its inception, DeltaHealth HospitalShanghai has been providing seamless, integrated care solutions ranging from screening to diagnosis, treatment, recovery and nutrition in a multi-disciplinary and cross-departmental approach. One Heart Team model has demonstrated excellence in the performance of the over 200 cardiovascular surgeries. "From the moment the patient enters the hospital, we can mobilize internal resources within the shortest possible time to focus on the patient. We are comparable to the world's leading hospitals in terms of mortality, incidence of complications, time of ex-tubation and recovery speed," said Prof. Li Zhong Sun, President & Chief Medical Officer of DeltaHealth Hospital Shanghai. Of the more than 200 cardiovascular surgeries performed by DeltaHealth Hospital, over 50% are highly intractable, complicated and interventional surgical operations.

At the anniversary, DeltaHealth also held the meeting to initiate the Advisory Board on Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), which is co-chaired by Prof. Lizhong Sun and Academician Junbo Ge, Chief Medical Officer, Cardiology of DeltaHealth Hospital Shanghai. As the strategic partner of DeltaHealth HospitalShanghai, Columbia HeartSource will act as the senior advisory team of the committee. "TAVI surgery has been widely adopted globally, but China has a long way to go in this regard. I'm full of expectations for the TAVI Advisory Board of DeltaHealth Hospital, which is supported by clinically experienced senior advisors from Columbia HeartSource. I hope this surgery will benefit more Chinese patients in the future," said Academician Junbo Ge. As an innovative clinical solution for patients, TAVI surgery eliminates the need of thoracotomy and provides the benefits of minimal invasiveness and fast recovery after the surgery.

"DeltaHealth can access extensive networks of medical resources locally and globally. As its only strategic partner in China, we have conducted extensive exchanges and cooperation with Columbia HeartSource over the past year. We also partner with local outstanding cardiovascular experts to hold regular high-level academic meetings to ensure the implementation of the 'Patient-Centricity' concept with the support of our exceptional clinical capabilities," said Desmond Thio MD, PhD., CEO of DeltaHealth. Just early this year, the DeltaHealth team paid a special visit to Columbia HeartSource to observe and study the clinical practice of TAVI surgery.

On the strength of its outstanding clinical expertise, highly qualified medical staff and robust management process, within only one year, DeltaHealth Hospital Shanghai has become a member of the Shanghai Medical Association, the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association, the Shanghai Nursing Association and the Shanghai Association for Non-Government Medical Institutions. "Healthcare is a special cause. Since we prepared to establish the hospital, we have been guided by a long-term view. Thanks to the strong leadership of the management team, we have achieved satisfactory progress in various fields," said Daniel Auerbach, Chairman of the Board of DeltaHealth.

Apart from strengthening the clinical development of cardiology, DeltaHealth has also established its social responsibility as one of its foremost priorities. One of its social programs, the DeltaHealth Heart Charity Fund, is committed to building public awareness of cardiovascular health, offer charitable aid and promote academic exchanges and research in China. To date, the Fund has offered aid worth more than RMB 8 million to over 80 patients in need of surgery.
