East Coles Equities Markets Awards - Winners and Top 3 Broker Rankings

SYDNEY, June 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- East Coles Australia announced today the Winners and Top 3 ranked brokers of the 2015 Equities Markets Awards. The winners were recognised at an exclusive event at the Ivy Sunroom, Sydney on 9 June.

Overall - All Houses

The Top 3 Equities teams overall came from Macquarie, Morgan Stanley and UBS, with the UBS team led by Chris Williams ranking 1st. The Top 3 Research teams came from Credit Suisse, Macquarie and UBS, with Simon Mitchell's UBS team beating their rivals.

Overall - Independents

The Top 3 Independent Equities teams overall came from Morgans, Evans & Partners and Taylor Collison, with Brian Sheahan's team at Morgans receiving the award. The Top 3 Independent Research teams came from Canaccord Genuity, Evans & Partners and Morgans, with Fiona Buchanan's Morgans team winning.

The Top 3 Independent Dealing Teams came from Morgans, PhillipCapital & Taylor Collison, with David Pittman's desk winning for the 3rd year in a row. The Top 3 Independent Corporate Teams came from Morgans, Petra Capital and Evans & Partners, with Roger Leaning's team at Morgans topping the list.

Industrials

The best Banks team came from Morgan Stanley led by Richard Wiles. Morgan Stanley also supplied the best Building Materials team led by James Rutledge. UBS team headed by Andrew Goodsall won Health Care. Deutsche took out Insurance led by Kieren Chidgey.

The JP Morgan Media team took out 1st place, led by Jarrod McDonald. The best Real Estate team came from Macquarie, led by Paul Checchin & Rob Freeman, whilst Retail was won by the JP Morgan team, led by Shaun Cousins. Telecommunications went to UBS, led by Eric Choi.

Resources

Resources was dominated by UBS, with their teams winning Commodities, Diversified Metals & Mining, & Energy, led by Lachlan Shaw, Glyn Lawcock & Nik Burns respectively. Other Metals & Mining was won by the team from Deutsche, led by Brett McKay.

Macro

Economics went to the UBS team, led by Scott Haslem, and Strategy went to Credit Suisse led by Hasan Tevfik.

Dealing

Account Management & Sales Trading were won by UBS, led by George Kanaan and David Singer respectively.

Corporate

The best Equity Capital Markets team came from UBS, led by Richard Sleijpen, whilst the best Corporate Access team was Macquarie, led by Julie Loring.
