The Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, Ms. Brigitte Zypries MdB, opened the summit with a keynote speech, followed by Fosun's Executive Director, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer , Ms. Lan Kang, who gave a key note speech on entrepreneurship and leadership. Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau also delivered greeting and inspiring speech through video.

Approximately 500 young entrepreneurs were invited from the G20 countries to develop ideas and discuss the key topics of digital trends, big data, digital platforms and how augmented and virtual reality can be integrated into our future business models.

As part of the summit, young entrepreneurs were invited to pitch their business models as part of a "Get in the Ring" competition to a panel of judges from Fosun and Hauck & Aufhauser Privatbankiers. This pitching format is both entertaining and informative: the participants have the exclusive opportunity to present their business models to a large and top-class audience within the framework of a boxing arena," says Sara Lengauer, G20 YEA Sherpa for Germany.

"We are honored to participate in this year's G20 YEA Summit in Germany, one year after our participation at B20 Employment Taskforce in China. Fosun has evolved from an entrepreneurial start-up into a leading investment group taking roots in China with a global foothold. We are delighted to share our vision and experience with young entrepreneurs from all over the world and we hope to inspire them," says Ms. Lan Kang.

In this year's G20 YEA Summit, Fosun, Fidelidade, Luz Saúde, together with the German private bank Hauck & Aufhauser are promoting Protechting program for young entrepreneurs in the fields of wealth and health services. Aiming to support the new generation of entrepreneurs, providing them a unique opportunity to work with Fosun Group and its portfolio companies.

The program is made up with initiatives based on the strong belief that individuals create value in a collaborative and innovative sharing culture that significantly increases the probability of success for startups. Numerous start-ups from all over the world will have the opportunity to convince the panel of judges with their model of business and growth potential, after 8-week acceleration period.

The best three projects will be awarded with a roadshow in China with exclusive opportunities, such as meeting up with the biggest international investors, the possibility of benefiting from capital participation or potentially integration of the business model within Fosun. Furthermore, the best project will receive a money prize of 10,000 Euro in order to further develop its business.

Protechting has received applications from 33 different countries. Portugal (25%), Spain (10%) and the United Kingdom (8%) represent the majority of participants, but there are also startups from countries like China, Italy, South Africa, Nigeria, France, Ireland, Israel, Vietnam, Brazil, Germany, Singapore, Denmark, Kenya, Lebanon or United States.

"Thereby Fosun, Hauck & Aufhauser, Fidelidade and Luz Saúde express their strong belief in the high value and power of people and ideas. The companies consider it as their duty to promote innovation by supporting the startup ecosystem in a relevant way, as already proven by various examples. The promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation lies at the heart of our mutual business strategy", concludes by Michael Bentlage, CEO of Hauck & Aufhauser.

The support in G20 YEA Summit and Protechting program can be seen as the result of a common understanding of entrepreneurship as an essential source for the future prosperity and modernization of society.
