MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Nexusguard with the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Entrepreneurial Company of the Year. Nexusguard's ambition to deliver the most effective DDoS mitigation solution, across multiple layers of the Internet supply chain, has resulted in a highly scalable solution with advanced features and competitive pricing.

The Nexusguard Service Provider Enablement program empowers Internet service providers (ISPs) and hosting service providers to detect and mitigate DDoS attacks. It is a multi-tenant hybrid solution that enables service providers to deploy the Nexusguard platform for onsite mitigation and then automatically signal the Nexusguard global network to mitigate attacks once they exceed the onsite solution's capacity. The Nexusguard solution also boasts web application firewall (WAF), content caching and accelerating capabilities.

"Nexusguard Service Provider Enablement allows service providers to deliver DDoS mitigation as a service to their customers and employ a revenue sharing model. This program fills a significant market gap as many businesses lack the resources to justify a large DDoS mitigation appliance deployment," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry Analyst Chris Rodriguez. "The Nexusguard program delivers both cloud-based mitigation and a private, in-country model. This approach offers lower latency, high-performance and most importantly, data sovereignty to end users in the same geographic location."

By presenting the Nexusguard program as a service, the company can do away with the requirement for large capital investments inherent in the purchase of on-premise appliances. The Nexusguard service can be purchased through a monthly or yearly subscription, and be treated as an operational expenditure.

Nexusguard's innovative heuristics approach helps it discern end-user intentions without disrupting the user's experience. The program also features adaptive learning capabilities to minimize false positives over time. A robust global scrubbing center infrastructure facilitates mitigation closer to the attack source for network layer attacks, or closer to the protected object for application attacks. As a result, the Nexusguard program can detect and mitigate attacks ranging from simple network layer floods to advanced, stealth attacks.

"Nexusguard makes available real-time and historical views of network activities to assist customers in improving the effectiveness of their security solutions, detecting suspicious activity and aiding compliance with business and regulatory requirements," noted Rodriguez.

Although Nexusguard faces steep competition from established vendors, it has carved a niche in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America market and is now targeting a wider market, with enhanced presence in San Francisco, London, Singapore and Sydney. In 2014, Nexusguard quadrupled its market share, making it a leading market contender and one of the largest DDoS mitigation vendors globally.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in devising a strong growth strategy and robustly implementing it. The recipient has shown strength in terms of innovation in products and technologies, leadership in customer value as well as speed in response to market needs. In short, the award looks at the emerging market players in the industry and recognizes their best practices that are positioned for future growth excellence.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
