Endress+Hauser has consistently addressed unmet customer requirements by introducing products and technologies that redefine the concept of liquid analysis. A prime example is its Memosens technology, which converts the measured analysis value to a digital signal and transfers it to a transmitter without involving a contacting connection, thereby eliminating all issues related to moisture and corrosion. In the event of any disruption in signal transmission, the option of alert messaging further decreases the rate of error in measurement.

Because Memosens needs no calibration in the field, it optimizes process control through its lab-oriented calibration systems and provides customers with a platform that ensures high accuracy and availability and requires low maintenance and low operating expenditure (OPEX). Endress+Hauser's digital sensors based on the Memosens technology can also store data related to calibration, sensor, and process analysis. This empowers the sensors to predict the right time to perform system maintenance and enhances the overall liquid analysis process.

"With our Liquiline transmitters, samplers, analyzers and our Memosens sensors, we offer customers a unique platform for a wide variety of tasks in liquid analysis, from simple pH measuring points to wet-chemical analyzers for demanding measurement tasks," said Dr Manfred Jagiella, CEO of liquid analysis specialist Endress+Hauser Conducta based in Germany. He is also responsible for the analytical business within the Group's Executive Board.

When the Memosens sensors are linked with the Liquiline transmitters, they promptly recognize the sensor type and analyze the data stored in it. Such seamless functioning of the plug-and-play setup reduces the process downtime and ensures easy and safe handling during commissioning and operation.

"Apart from water quality monitoring, Endress+Hauser has a significant presence in drinking water, wastewater, and industrial process water monitoring applications," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Krishnan Ramanathan. "Indeed, the company is positioning itself to be a market leader in the pH and conductivity instrumentation segments. In a departure from the industry norm of selling out-of-the-box products, it prefers to make available a comprehensive suite of solutions that feature innovative capabilities."

Previously, numerous transmitters had to be deployed to carry out specific measurements. With Endress+Hauser's sophisticated technologies and the Liquiline transmitter, customers can now derive a range of cost and efficiency benefits through a single instrument. Additionally, the integrated functionalities of Endress+Hauser's products have done away with the need to adhere to multiple standards for individual parameters. Unsurprisingly, these product differentiators have won the company customers across diverse industry verticals such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power and energy, and food and beverage.

"Developing new products to match strides with technological advancements is one of the best-in-class practices that has served Endress+Hauser well," noted Ramanathan. "Not looking to position itself as a Tier II or III solution provider, Endress+Hauser has designed an array of premium products loaded with benefits such as user-friendliness, pre-calibrated sensor probes, and low cost of ownership and maintenance. Moreover, Endress+Hauser is a family-owned business, which gives it the freedom to design a product development pipeline and then reinvest a major portion of its profits in R&D."

Endress+Hauser further sets itself apart through its outstanding pre- and post-sales support services. With a wide base of customers in the United States, it has opened up five regional offices in that country alone, with product specialists providing support across the entire product line. In addition to 24/7 support, it offers training programs, conducts customer surveys, and ensures that it maintains an open and engaging relationship with clients.

For its overall excellence in growth, innovation, and leadership, Frost & Sullivan is thrilled to recognize Endress+Hauser with the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award in the water analysis instrumentation market.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated superiority in devising a strong growth strategy and implementing it. The recipient has shown strength in terms of innovation in products and technologies, leadership in customer value, and speed in response to market needs. In short, the award looks at the emerging market participants in the industry and recognizes their best practices that position them for future growth.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets that demonstrate outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research to identify industry best practices.
