SEOUL, South Korea, Dec. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HARMAN Connected Services is going to discuss the advanced automotive Over-the-air (OTA) use cases at the International Advanced Mobility Forum 2016 (IAMF 2016) held from Dec 7th to 8th in Seoul, Korea.

Nearly 400 attendees are expected to join this private forum. The speakers are from 18 industry-leading companies including HARMAN, Hyundai Motors, SAP, Qualcomm, NXP Semiconductors, Mercedes-Benz and Intel.

HARMAN Connected Services' presentation by Roger Ordman, the Marketing Director, will review seven advanced OTA update use cases throughout the vehicle's lifecycle, from engineering through production, at the dealership and even the car owner's home.

"Based on HARMAN's experience with 12 global automotive OEMs, updating over 17 million vehicles and performing more than 30 million successful OTA updates, this presentation will review our customers' advanced use of OTA updates and explain specific value to the automotive industry," said Ordman. "OTA update is a widely accepted and preferred means of updating the automotive head unit and TCU post-production. OTA is increasingly being used to optimize all vehicle ECUs at all stages of the car lifecycle."

Automobile manufacturers are required to address the ever-increasing challenge of achieving seamless, ongoing integration of emerging software-rich assets and technologies, while simultaneously keeping manufacturing efficiencies high and warrantee costs down to a minimum, and that's why OTA update has become a foundation feature to improve vehicle safety, adding features and increasing customer satisfaction.
