Indonesia's Hamami Family invested into BookDoc

The Hamami Family owns Trakindo Utama, which has been one of the most successful heavy equipment dealers in Indonesia, in addition to business interests spanning mining, Carl's Jr. Burger restaurants franchise and LOKA supermarkets.

BookDoc welcomes the Hamami Family as a strategic investor as well as a business partner in Indonesia. The largest economy of South East Asia with a population of over 250 million offers unrivalled growth opportunity in the region. BookDoc hopes that this latest partnership will help it navigate through the unique business and consumer landscape which intricacies are different from the existing markets of BookDoc, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.  

The investment of Hamami Family came after that of Dr Stanley Ho family of Macau and Price Abdul Qawi of Brunei over a span of 1.5 years. The latest investment amount was not disclosed and valued BookDoc at double-digit US million. Its backers now include individuals with proven market-specific business acumen, in addition to those with deep cross-border business networks in the region, multi-disciplinary experience ranging from entrepreneurship, healthcare, IT, banking and insurance.
