Institut Teknologi Bandung and Honeywell Indonesia sign a Memorandum of Understanding to build a 76,000USD Control Laboratory in Jakarta

JAKARTA, Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Honeywell (NYSE:HON) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), the leading state institute for higher education of engineering, technology and science in Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a Control Laboratory on the university campus. The MOU was signed at Honeywell Indonesia's head office at Menara Prima Building, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan, by Prof. Dr. Bambang Riyanto, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Partnership of ITB, and Alex Pollack, President of Honeywell Indonesia.

The Control Laboratory will help bachelor and master degree students develop the critical skills necessary to improve their knowledge in the manufacturing industry, both in Indonesia and globally, as well as prepare them for careers in this field," said Prof. Dr. Bambang Riyanto, ITB Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Partnership.

Following the MOU, Honeywell and ITB will begin building the Honeywell Control Laboratory, which is planned to be officially launched at the end of November 2016. It will be located at the laboratory area of the School of Electronic Engineering and Informatics ITB. Activities conducted in the laboratory will focus on teaching students ITB's curriculum and showcasing Honeywell's control process technologies and solutions. That includes with Process Control / Advance Control Laboratory activities:

  • Teaching and Students Project Facility
  • Students' project ideas
  • Pilot plant scale units
    • Designed around process units operations
    • Demonstrate variety of control strategies
  • Process units enable a variety of hands-on practical work
    • Operation
    • Tuning
    • Dynamic response
    • Model Identification and Testing
    • Advanced Process Control.
  • Integrated into Honeywell Experion system.

In addition, in the future, it will also open for other cooperation, including engagement for Pipeline, and University Recruitment Program.
