JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The era of dating via smartphones has come and many young people prefer to initiate new friendships via their phone. The matchmaking app JustDating has just released the latest results of a survey taken among men in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia about their online dating experiences.

Malaysian men start online dating on average at the age of 21

Taiwanese men on average start at the younger age of 19, while Singaporeans wait until they are 23. Although the average age for Malaysian men fell in the middle among the three groups surveyed, once they start, they are more active daters. Up to 80% of Malaysian men seek dating candidates via a matchmaking app and, if they feel the chemistry on the first date, they are less likely to hesitate in asking for a second date and in wanting to quickly get to know the girl better. Men in Taiwan and Singapore said that they would be more cautious and make sure they remain sure through a second date before going from friendship to relationship.

iPhone users are more inclined to date than Android users

The survey also studied their phone models, revealing that iPhone users are more aggressive in dating than users of Android models. Over 70% of iPhone users want to establish a relationship on the first date, compared with only 30% among the Android set.
