NetComm Wireless Certifies 4G LTE Light Industrial M2M Router for Use on Verizon Private Network

2016-03-03 07:00 3723

SYDNEY, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- NetComm Wireless Limited (ASX: NTC) today announced that Verizon Wireless has certified the NetComm Wireless 4G LTE Light Industrial M2M Router (NWL-25) for use on the Verizon Wireless Private Network. The offering delivers a cost-effective solution for LTE/XLTE network coverage, and addresses public network security and privacy concerns by enabling the direct transfer of data from wireless Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices to internal enterprise systems over a segregated private network.

Enterprise customers can now secure the transfer, management and control of large amounts of data from remote and mobile assets such as digital signs, healthcare devices and business backup using the NWL-25 to separate data from public Internet traffic, and deliver an uninterrupted connection to internal IP networks.

Designed to support the successful implementation of M2M solutions across all industry sectors, the NWL-25 will enable new business models and is expected to fast-track the uptake of M2M in the U.S., which continues to dominate the global market in terms of cellular connections and M2M revenue which will be USD1.6 trillion in 20241.

"Security is one of the biggest barriers to M2M adoption and growth, and as the proliferation of connected devices brings new challenges, data must be safely managed. We are pleased to join Verizon Wireless in providing enterprise customers with a scalable and economical approach to the secure management of mission-critical M2M applications," said David Stewart, CEO and Managing Director, NetComm Wireless.

Virtually any LAN connected device can be managed and controlled using the NWL-25 for remote access to a private network that is supported by the coverage, speed and reliability offered by Verizon Wireless.

The NWL-25 is a future-proof 4G LTE / XLTE router that combines powerful edge processing capabilities for complete control over device access and management. Using the open embedded Linux Operating System and Software Development Kit (SDK), enterprises can freely create and run custom applications such as asset tracking, security alerts and the management of sensor settings.

The industrial-grade NWL-25 features multiple interfaces and seamless integration to support challenging M2M applications with access to: external antenna connectors for cellular antennas; a software configurable Serial port; 3 multipurpose I/O ports; a 100Mbps Ethernet port; a USB-OTG for additional interfaces and ignition sense capability for vehicular applications.
