SINGAPORE, Sept. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Qoo10 Singapore, Asia's leading online marketplace, announces the integrated Payment and Advertising Model, QPay.

Qpay, an integrated cashless payment system enables consumers to purchase items simply by scanning a QR Code at the merchant's brick-and-mortar stores. The system is integrated in the Qoo10 payment platform and extends to the discounts and loyalty rewards on individuals' Qoo10 accounts which are applicable upon checking out.

"Payment systems are rapidly changing and increasing, what matters to us is how it benefits both merchants and consumers throughout the payment journey," says HyunWook Cho, Country Manager of Qoo10 Singapore, who believes that the solution to cashless payment is not just developing another payment gateway but tapping on the existing to reach the optimum capabilities of a cashless transaction.

Unlike a typical payment gateway, Qpay empowers merchants with a payment platform option – reaching their potential customers through Qoo10 as an advertising channel, driving footfall to their stores. Traditional Businesses and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), specifically those which are unable to sustain or keep up to the ever changing digital age can now be at ease, adopting this seamless model for their payment transactions and an advertising platform at the same time.

Singapore Red Cross has adopted the model for their International Bazzar, raising funds for local humanitarian services, on 23rd September, Saturday at Suntec Convention Centre. Attendees are able to enjoy a 5% discount for coupons purchased via Qpay and all proceeds will be donated to Singapore Red Cross.

To celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, Qoo10 has also collaborated with eight other merchants such as Holiday Inn Hotel, Amara Hotel, Bee Cheng Hiang, integrating the Qpay system with their promotional Mooncake deals from 23rd September to 4th October 2017.

"Singapore is moving towards cashless payment mode. We need to keep ourselves up to the trend," says Christopher Lee, Food and Beverage Manager from Holiday Inn Hotel who reckons that the integrated system will drive footfall to their hotel during the Mooncake Festival season.

To date, there are more than 1200 merchants using Qpay. As we move forward to a Smart Cashless Society, Qoo10 aims to enable merchants with an all-rounded business strategy reaching their consumers with a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience.
