Seatrade Unveils the Finalists for the 9th Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia

SINGAPORE, May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Seatrade, a leading global maritime publisher and event organiser, has unveiled the finalists for the 9th Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia. Judged by an independent panel of experienced maritime industry experts, a total of 49 finalists from 12 competing award categories managed to convince and impress the judges with their well-deserving achievements.

 

Mr. Marcus Hand, Editor of Seatrade Maritime News said, "Amidst tough market conditions, we are extremely pleased to receive a significant number of quality nominations and submissions this year out of which, some new companies have sent in entries vying for a spot amongst the big boys." Over 90 entries from more than 10 countries were received.

In-line with Seatrade's long standing tradition of contributing to and giving back to the maritime community, the awards gala event has chosen two supported charities - Sailors' Society and The Mission to Seafarers, in recognition of and to salute the sterling work that they do for the the maritime industry. As a part of this celebratory occasion, 10 per cent of the table sales proceeds from the event will be donated to the two organisations.

The black tie gala event is expected to be attended by over 400 leading industry executives. The gala awards evening will be guest-hosted by Anita Kapoor, a well-known travel television host and media personality. Anita earned her sea legs young, being born into a maritime family.
