JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --  The high inflation rate in Indonesia makes the prices of goods and services increasing from year to year. SweetRing, a dating application, has conducted a survey in August 2017 and found that average couples in Indonesia are willing to spend IDR 40 million on their wedding. The budget has increased, compared to the survey made by well-known wedding blog Bridestory in January 2017 that shows that Indonesian tend to spend an average of IDR 35 Million for a wedding with 25-50 invited-guests.

Moreover, SweetRing also found out that in recent years, women in Indonesia would have higher expectations for the wedding and for their mates' salary. The result of the survey shows that 61% of women surveyed want their mates' monthly salary to be at least Rp 12 million before they say yes to their proposal. However, men's opinions are different. 67% of men surveyed feel that with salary Rp 9 million per month, they are ready to get married. The female respondents say that 12 million is the minimum wage for them to accept a proposal because they believe that under this circumstance, they are able to enjoy a good quality of life after getting married. One of SweetRing user, Rini, says that "every year, the price of all necessities increases, therefore 12 million is a reasonable minimum salary for a husband so they can finance a family."

In addition to high salary standards for their partners, every woman also wants the wedding to be majestic and unforgettable, therefore, 60% of surveyed women are willing to spend 50 million on their wedding expenses, while 59% of surveyed men are only willing to spend 30 million as they feel that an excessive wedding party will only please party guests. With the price of goods increases every year, the extravagant weddings may waste the bride and the groom money. "The most important thing of a wedding is that my partner and I are getting married, not the how big is it," said Agung, 29, a user of SweetRing.
