SHANGHAI, March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ctrip Gourmet List, Ctrip's independent gourmet brand, has released its list of top 200 restaurants in Thailand's four main travel destinations - Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya - based on a set of criteria developed by the brand taking into consideration the culinary style of each destination. With these latest additions, the Ctrip Gourmet List now covers 30 destinations outside Ctrip's home market of China, with the selection of restaurants with the highest permissible rating continuously increasing in number as more excellent eating establishments are uncovered.

The restaurant entries spanning the four lists offer a wide variety of dishes, highlighting Thailand's rich gourmet culture. Among the selected restaurants, some offer traditional Thai dishes, such as Sra Bua in Bangkok, while others serve specialties from different countries, including several specializing in Indian and Japanese delicacies, as well others offering selections of Western fare. Local residents and travelers can check the lists and quickly locate the best restaurants and most authentic cuisines in each of the four cities.

The four new lists reflect Ctrip Gourmet List's plan to expand its presence in more markets through 2017. Ctrip, for several years China's largest online travel agency (OTA), can now claim that same distinction in terms of the whole Asia, with plans in the implementation phase for the expansion of the footprint across international markets worldwide. The Ctrip Gourmet List, one of travel agency's most prized projects, is adding significant value to the brand in terms of the connection the list builds with travelers around the world. A close look at traveler expectations when landing in a new destination, or even when returning to a familiar one, revealed the importance of being able to identify eating establishments where the traveler can be assured of a good meal. This identified expectation was built into Ctrip's strategy, resulting in the creation and roll out of the four lists. Since 2016, Southeast Asia has been the top destination among Chinese travelers, with Thailand the preferred destination country. The four lists assure not only China's travelers, but also travelers from the world, of a delicious and satisfying meal upon their arrival.
