TOKYO, June 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tobu Railway Co. will issue commemorative tickets and add another specially planned ticket to its mutual ticket exchange program with Taiwan Railways Administration (hereinafter referred to as "TRA") on June 17 in commemoration of the start of the operation of a Series 200 train used for the Limited Express Ryomo, whose exterior has been changed to that of TRA's Tze-Chiang limited express, "Puyuma."

This is part of collaborative programs, including the mutual ticket exchange program, which Tobu Railway and TRA have promoted since they signed a friendship agreement on December 18, 2015.

Commemorative tickets and their mat board are printed on a single piece of hard paper shaped like the Ryomo train with the exterior of the Tze-Chiang train, and are quite unique. A picture of the train is printed on the mat board with two tickets for adults -- one from Isesaki Station and one from Kuzuu Station -- and a ticket for children from Akagi Station. Tobu Railway will sell 2,000 sets of the tickets for 1,000 yen (including the consumption tax) each.

Moreover, Tobu Railway and TRA will expand the mutual ticket exchange program they launched on December 19, 2015. Under the current program, passengers who have a ticket for one railway operator can receive a free ticket for the other or receive a discount on a fare of the other. Taiwanese passengers who show a ticket for TRA's Tze-Chiang limited express at the Tobu Sightseeing Service Center at Asakusa Station can get a specially planned ticket for free or receive a discount for another kind of such ticket. The program will be expanded to cover a Tatebayashi-Ashikagashi pass exclusively for TRA passengers. With this ticket, passengers can take a round trip between Asakusa and Morinjimae stations and ride between Morinjimae and Ashikagashi as many times as they want while the ticket is effective. Tobu Railway decided to include this ticket in those subject to the mutual ticket exchange program to promote publicity of the Ryomo area popular with inbound tourists.

For the outline of the program, see the attached document.
