Tomorrow's Leader's Summit Establishes Award for Excellence in English Language

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tomorrow's Leader's Summit has announced that it will work with leading corporations and agencies to create the Tomorrow's Leader's Summit Award.

Tomorrow's Leader's Summit Award recipient will participate in the "Mastering Youth Leadership Program" conducted in Oxford University by leading training and consultancy company Bdec Resources Sdn. Bhd. who are the partners of Oxentia Ltd. Oxford University Innovation, UK.   

The Tomorrow's Leaders Summit Award for gifted students in English will receive a scholarship to attend the "Mastering Youth Leadership Program" in Oxford University together with flights and accommodation. 

The inaugural recipient of the award is Ms. Zahara Nordin, a recent graduate of Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Damansara (SKBD) in Kuala Lumpur, which is listed as a High Performance School (Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi) in Malaysia.

A well rounded student, Zahara recently completed the UPSR examination scoring the best possible result of 6A's and received the school award for English, she has also represented her school in both netball and scrabble.  Zahara was also a finalist in the national spelling bee in 2015.  She is no stranger to social work, on the weekends together with her mother, brother and sister volunteer to feed the less fortunate and socially marginalized people in Kuala Lumpur, and is an accomplished scout (rambu biru pengakap kanak-kanak).

The award was jointly presented at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) by Associate Professor Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw who is the Deputy Dean of Administration and Students Affair, Faculty of Defence Studies and Management at the National Defence University of Malaysia together with International Program Director of Bdec Resources, Ms. Sonia Ayesha Rashidi.

Mastering Youth Leadership Program in Oxford University is organised by Bdec Resources Sdn Bhd, the program will see 40 leading students from Malaysia attending the interactive program from the 5th to 11th December.

"The program is designed to have a lasting positive impact on students, our objective is to see these students become leaders.  As our nation grows, society will be faced with many challenges, it will fall on the youth to meet the challenges of the future, for that they need to be equipped with the skills and experience to do so in a positive and sustainable manner." Concluded Sonia Ayesha, herself a young leader with a passion for sustainable development.
