Winners of Asia Smartphone App Contest Announced at Asia Smartphone Apps Summit/Award Presentation Ceremony 2016

HONG KONG, June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Industry elites and experts from smartphone apps industries across Asia gathered together at Cyberport in Hong Kong on Thursday 16 June for the Asia Smartphone Apps Summit cum Award Presentation Ceremony, which is organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association and sponsored by Create Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), to share the glory of the winners of the 4th Asia Smartphone App Contest.

A judging panel was chaired by Mrs Agnes Mak Tang Pik-yee, MH, JP, Executive Director of Hong Kong Productivity Council and comprised of representatives from Roaming Capital (Mainland China), ISRAEL21c, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, IPI Singapore, Mobile Contents Forum (Japan), Korean Association for ICT Promotion (Korea), and Institute for Information Industry (Taiwan) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (Hong Kong). Members of the judging panel also delivered keynote speeches during the summit. Nine finalists were selected from an initial pool of 118 contestants to receive gold, silver and bronze awards in each of the three categories: Advertising & Marketing, Creative Lifestyle, and Games & Edutainment.

In Advertising & Marketing, gold, silver and bronze prizes were awarded to SURE Universal by Tekoia Ltd., CreateApp by Technopreneur's Resource Centre Pte Ltd and Link Park & Dine by Link Asset Management Limited & Green Tomato Limited respectively. The prizes were presented by Mr. David Chun, SVP, Asia Pacific of Tapjoy. The Creative Lifestyle prizes, presented by Mrs Agnes Mak, MH, JP, Executive Director of Hong Kong Productivity Council, were awarded to Ticker by Ticker International Limited (gold), BAZZ by E.SOOF (silver) and Yintran - The Money Transfer Network by Yintran Group Holdings Limited (bronze). Under the Games & Edutainment category, Bookclip by Castle Builders (IL) Ltd received the gold award, Gocco Zoo by Smart Education, Ltd received the silver award and TopoTogo for Kids & Parents by Little Travel Guides Pte Ltd received the bronze award from Mr. Herman Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited.

Another 30 entrants also received their Certificates of merit from Mr Kenny Yiu, Chairman, Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association at the ceremony. In addition, the HKSTP Startup Awarded was presented to Realcast by Realamx Technology Limited by Mr Peter Mok, Head of Incubation Programmes at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

The presentation of the prestigious Grand Award to SURE Universal by Tekoia Ltd marked the culmination of the day-long summit cum ceremony. Mr. Gregory So Kam-Leung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, HKSAR Government, presented the award. He also congratulated the other awarded Hong Kong teams.
