SHANGHAI, Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Yong Yi Ting at Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai has retained one Michelin-star status for a second year in the newly-released Michelin Guide Shanghai 2018. This accolade is part of Mandarin Oriental's impressive haul of 18 Michelin-stars globally in 2018.

Consultant Chef Tony Lu has helmed Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai's signature restaurant Yong Yi Ting since the hotel opened in 2013. His unique vision combines the diverse gastronomic influences of Shanghai and its neighbouring Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, enhanced with refined technical mastery and unbridled creativity. Seasonality has been the foundation of Jiang Nan cuisine for centuries, linked to both taste and holistic health, and Yong Yi Ting's exquisite menus change throughout the year to celebrate the finest ingredients of each season.

"My team and I could not be more excited by this tremendous honour from the prestigious Michelin Restaurant Guide," says Chef Tony Lu. "As a native Shanghainese, I am proudly dedicated to cook this region's food with heartfelt love for my home."

Chef Lu's Signature 8-course Set Menu is now available to book exclusively on the Michelin Guide App. Highlights include King prawn with sea urchin sauce, 'Lion's head' pork dumpling with crabmeat, and Yellow croaker wonton soup with salted vegetables.

Inspired by Chinese Imperial culture, Yong Yi Ting's elegant design sets the stage for a memorable gourmet occasion, ideal for business entertainment, family and social dining. In addition to the main dining room, there are six opulent private dining rooms, some of which open directly into a garden courtyard. Yong Yi Ting features a Chef's Table with a show kitchen for special degustation meals and cooking demonstrations, plus a wine cellar with an extensive global selection of fine wines and a private tasting table. Guests can also enjoy an array of premium Chinese teas, including several rare varieties, plus a hand-crafted Jiang Nan dim sum menu served during lunchtimes.

In addition to Yong Yi Ting's Michelin star recognition, Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai is featured in the Michelin Guide Shanghai 2018 as one of the Recommended Hotels, and its modern French restaurant Fifty 8° Grill has received a Special Mention.
