At the end of the 19th century, the first Waldorf Astoria Hotel opened in New York city, two luxury locations, side by side that became known as the "Hyphen". "Meet me at the Hyphen" became the rallying cry of the ultra-wealthy and high society, a place to be meet and be seen and where the world aspired to be. It became a symbol of that wonderful golden age.

First Movement: Witness a new Guinness Book of World Records

The Waldorf invented it and the world has loved it ever since, Red Velvet is a signature of the Waldorf Astoria and to celebrate the Beijing Waldorf Hotel team of chefs will work with guests to create a 2.2-meter "Red Velvet" Macaroon Tower, challenging the existing Guinness Book of World Record, a 2.07-meter-tall Macaroon Tower in 2014 in Japan.

Second Movement: Transporting guests though time and space, two centuries intertwined and connected by a time tunnel from the golden age of New York through to the bustling bright and modern luxury of Beijing. From the 19th Century to the 21st Century, two eras of beautiful luxury and accumulation of modern light.

Hong Kong's Michelin Starred Chef Olivier Elzer, known for his French cuisine, creates a custom six course culinary voyage of Michelin quality dishes. Guests will taste Hokkaido fresh sea urchins with salmon and black truffle, Alaskan king crabs, abalone and imported beef with foie gras. Each dish paired with a perfectly chosen fine wine to showcase and highlight the flavors and elegance of each course.

Fourth movement: Peking Opera and Broadway perfectly paired

Peking opera is the crystallization of the traditional Chinese artistic ideal; it has a long history and a unique artistic value. When the quintessential Peking opera and the charm of a New York Broadway classic musical combine brilliantly to create a truly East Meets West and old meets new experience.

Fifth movement: Foreign Jazz Dance Band

The New York Waldorf Astoria Hotel was famous for many galas and balls, dancing has always been a part of its allure and history, made even more famous by being depicted on screen in many classic films. The most famous being "Scent of a Woman" the Oscar winning movie starring Al Pacino. He plays a blind Colonel who dances a most impressive Tango at the hotel. Guests can create their own moment and dance the night away.
