BEIJING, Jan. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As the famous Tsingtao Brewery celebrates reaching 100 countries and regions of the world with effervescent exports sales, on the way becoming perhaps the first truly global Chinese brand, they teamed up with BON Cloud to find some touching stories about good times shared together by people around the world in the "Tsingtao Story Teller" campaign.

The Chinese video production specialist BON Cloud received more than 30 story ideas from international production teams that use the platform. Another "media selection team" picked out a top ten of the best stories they felt had universal themes and values.

"Cultural cuisine can be converted into an inspiring video because it is a perfect story for foodies across the globe," said Ilin Elsa Mathew, an international financial journalist, commenting on a story about the first Chinese restaurant in Canberra, Australia that has seen its menu change over the years, but has never stopped selling Tsingtao.

For many years, the beer at Happy's was very much Australian, the near-ubiquitous Carlton or a VB. But in 1997 they gave Tsingtao a go.

The brewery behind the iconic red-and-green Tsingtao label and headquartered on China's eastern coast, has been busy creating new markets to access high-end mainstream channels. A much-loved Chinese restaurant in Australia's capital city was clearly a good choice.

Located in the heart of Canberra's, Happy's Chinese Restaurant boasts a loyal following of diners and has earned a "Certificate of Excellence" on the TripAdvisor website, for consistent positive reviews. The menu has changed over the years, however.

"Back in the days, I remember my father and uncle telling me it was lots of sweet and sour pork and fried rice," says Gavin Chan, the third generation owner. "Australians wouldn't accept tofu at all once. Now it's a popular dish."

Although the menu has changed, it's unlikely Happy's will be taking Tsingtao off their shelves anytime soon as Gavin Chan estimates that 90% of his customers order a bottle of Tsingtao to go with their Chinese meals. "The feedback we get from customers is that it's a beer that goes down pretty easily. It is a very nice tasting beer."

The production of "Mr Happy", is now available for download on the Premium website of BON Cloud for international media to select, along with other Tsingtao stories filmed in Italy and Russia, and their usual China-focused videos.
