Transparency and credibility of TUV Rheinland Green Product Mark endorsed by established third-party oversight body

WASHINGTON, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TUV Rheinland's Green Product Mark has received accreditation from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This means that the Green Product Mark fulfills all the requirements specified by ANSI in its accreditation program for environmental labeling and declarations. This includes the requirement for program participants to comply with the ISO 14020:2000-09 standard regarding the general principles of environmental labeling.

Credible environmental criteria
"More and more companies are attaching importance to having their products certified in accordance with credible environmental criteria. With the ANSI accreditation, we are demonstrating that our own Green Product Mark once again meets the established international standards for environmental labeling," explains Holger Kunz, Executive Vice President Products at TUV Rheinland. "The Green Product Mark quickly and reliably transmits this message to consumers looking for environmentally friendly products."

Also recognized by GENICES and US EPA
The ANSI accreditation reaffirms the credibility of TUV Rheinland's Green Product Mark. Furthermore, at the beginning of 2017, the Green Product Mark secured GENICES certification (Global Ecolabelling Network Internationally Coordinated Ecolabelling System) and, at the end of 2016, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) included the Green Product Mark on its list of recommended environmental test marks for federal procurement.
