SYDNEY, Australia, Nov. 15 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- The Australasian

Investor Relations Association (AIRA) is pleased to announce that the 2006

Australasian IR Awards and Gala Dinner, honouring excellence in the practice

of investor relations by Australasian listed entities and investor relations

officers, will be held in Sydney on Thursday, 23 November 2006 at The Westin

Hotel, Sydney.

A cocktail reception sponsored by Bloomberg will kick off an exciting

evening of events, the culmination of which will be the naming of the Best

Investor Relations Officer for 2006 and the award for Best IR by an ASX200

company.

During the evening, Daily Telegraph cartoonist Warren Brown will take a

humorous look at the year’s events in pictures - and will also sketch one or

two of his insightful cartoons live on stage during the evening.

Respected financial journalist Michael Pascoe is the master of ceremonies

for the evening.

Below is a list of award categories, as well as the methodology used for

arriving at a winner for each award.

"These awards are an opportunity to recognise the efforts of Australia’s

listed entities to communicate to their shareholders and are also an

opportunity for the market to meet in an informal basis with the companies in

which they invest," says Ian Matheson, CEO of AIRA.

"The awards are decided by investors in Australia and overseas, and the

AIRA membership base votes for the award for the Best IRO (Award number 11),

which means those that are conferred with an award are genuinely deserving of

it," he says.

representation, as well as leading service providers, to agree a fair awards

companies who are doing well in this area are recognised.

An online survey was circulated by email asking individuals to vote for

their top three choices for the various award categories. The target audience

invited to vote will be tailored to ensure that it is relevant to specific

award being presented. An outline of the voting methodology is as follows:

tailored to their specific areas of interest -- ie by sector/index/market

(target audience: all institutions of significance in Australia and New

Zealand for the NZ awards)

Award 10 International buy-side representatives only were asked this

question (target audience: all major offshore investors with Australian

interests.)
