-- Series 600 Seating meets ISO 7096 performance standards

-- Safety and comfort result of innovative design and construction

-- To be unveiled at BAUMA 2007 Show in Munich, Germany

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, April 17 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: CVGI), today announced the launch of its new KAB brand 600 Series Construction Seats. The new 600 Series Construction Seats will provide safety and comfort for construction vehicle operators around the world using technologically innovative design principles to achieve high-quality results in safety, servicing, customer satisfaction and production.

The New 600 Series seating has a modular design to allow for the air or mechanical suspensions to be interchanged, and the 3 different K- Series seat uppers and 5 different Positioning System Modules. These features provide comprehensive solutions for construction vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and plant and equipment operators in the field.

The Air 65 and Mechanical 61 suspensions share common base plates to facilitate assembly and servicing. Both have low natural frequencies and are fine tuned to significantly reduce harmful vibrations that negatively affect drivers of construction equipment. These wide suspensions improve stability and have large operator weight ranges, in the case of the AIR 65 version from 50 to 200kg (110 to 440lbs).

The K-Series uppers include operator comfort features such as: adjustable lumbar support, seat heaters, seat cushion tilt and length adjustment, adjustable armrests and an adjustable headrest. The 600 Series also features a unique Positioning Systems Module (PSM). The PSM provides optional combinations of: slide rails, fore and aft isolator, lateral isolator and a customised pod control carrier. The PSM package fitted between the seat upper and the suspension is always the same height to ensure a constant Seat Index Point (SIP). This allows customers to select options to suit to their vehicles or markets, depending on the features required, without changing the seat ride height.

Significantly, the new 600 Series seating also achieves ISO 7096 seat performance standards for construction vehicles without the need to change damping or springs for different equipment categories. The 600 Series is the ideal seating solution for vehicles such as:

-- Articulated and rigid dump trucks (EM1)

-- Large and compact wheel loaders (EM3/ EM8)

-- Graders (EM4)

-- Backhoe loaders (EM5)

-- Bulldozers (EM6)

-- Other large construction machines such as excavators

The 600 Series was designed in house by KAB Seating's Advanced Engineering Team. The goal was to integrate sleek seat styling and adjustability to maximize operator comfort and aesthetic appeal in the cabin, along with a robust suspension for extended product life in the most severe environments.

The new 600 Series will be produced in CVG's custom-built facility in Shanghai, China. Its modular form will allow local assembly in CVG plants around the world.

Gordon Boyd, President, CVG Global Construction stated, "Our new Series 600 seating represents a major step forward in the design and production of construction vehicle seating. These seats demonstrate our ongoing commitment to build and market innovative and flexible products that combine state-of-the-art safety and comfort while meeting demanding customer and manufacturer requirements."

"The New 600 Series represents a significant investment in our OEM and aftermarket business strategies. Strategically, the Series 600 product line is an investment that will help ensure the future competitiveness of our products and our industry-leading market position," Boyd added.

The first public viewing of the 600 Series seating will be held at the BAUMA 2007 Show (Hall A6 Stand 138) which is scheduled April 23 through 29 in Munich, Germany.
