CHENGDU, China, January 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chengdu International Finance Square (Chengdu IFS), in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year, rolled out a surprise event for the local populace: Po, the cute Dragon Warrior in the Kung Fu Panda animated martial arts film, finally returned to his hometown of Chengdu. On January 20, 2016, the Chengdu IFS Kung Fu Panda 3 themed event officially kicked off at Chengdu IFS. Along with Hollywood star Kate Hudson and famous director and animation master Xu Chengyi, Po and Mei Mei from Kung Fu Panda made an appearance in Antiquity Plaza at Chengdu IFS. They astonished the whole city by completing the Taiji-themed jigsaw puzzle with thousands of their fans.
The event, the result of cross-community cooperation between Chengdu IFS and Oriental DreamWorks, the copyright owner of Kung Fu Panda 3, will be held from January 20th to February 29th. Chengdu IFS will launch a series of "An Invitation to Witness the Return of the Hero" Kung Fu Panda-themed events, including the reproduction of four classic movie scenes (Panda Valley & Happiness Gate, Kung Fu Academy, the goose father's noodle shop and Po & Mei Mei's romantic garden), four themed events (An Invitation to Witness the Return of the Hero launch ceremony, the God of Wealth's blessings, the lion dance in celebration of Chinese New Year and dating in the romantic garden), the adopted Dragon Warrior's interactions with his parents (Kung Fu class, children's lion dance class, parent-child cooking class and the STAR DIAMOND building block competition) and the Caring for Veterans charity project.

During the launch ceremony held on the 20th of January, Dragon Warrior Po and his friend Mei Mei returned home and fans from around the world welcomed the cute and adorable figures' arrival with excited screams and shrieks. The return of the hero to his hometown also attracted well-known public figures. As invited guests of the launching ceremony, Hollywood hottie Kate Hudson and renowned director and cartoon master Xu Chengyi took part in the on-site launch ceremony, creating memorable moments at the event.
Po, Mei Mei, Kate Hudson, Xu Chengyi and Wang Fei, inheritor of Qingcheng-style Wushu and thousands of fans together produced a marvel when thousands of people completed the Taiji-themed jigsaw puzzle, the most exciting part of the event. Kung Fu Panda fans that attended the event said that it is an unforgettable and meaningful experience for them when they took part in the jigsaw puzzle event.
Reproduction of four classic movie scenes; free of charge shooting with pandas
The IFS Kung Fu Panda 3-themed event in Chengdu also included a reproduction of four classic movie scenes (Panda Valley & Happiness Gate, Kung Fu Academy, the goose father's noodle shop and Po & Mei Mei's romantic garden). The event is open to the public free of charge.
Panda Valley at Antiquity Square will be a reproduction of Po's hometown. The numerous resident pandas enjoy a happy life in Panda Valley. Po also found his father here. Visitors get access to a cute and fantastic world populated by pandas. In addition, Po & Mei Mei's Romantic Garden on the 7th floor of the shopping mall will provide WeChat camera service for visitors, who are entitled to free photo shoots between the 20th of January and the 29th of February, 2016.
Po's Kung Fu class | The first Kung Fu Panda-branded Kung Fu Academy; a Kung Fu certification will be awarded
The Kung Fu dream is in everyone's heart. If you are dreaming of becoming a Kung Fu hero like Po, you should attend the Kung Fu Academy. During the event, Chengdu IFS will launch the first Kung Fu Panda-branded Kung Fu Academy, inviting Wing Chun Kung Fu masters to teach skills of the Furious Five. Children participating the event will be awarded a Kung Fu certification by Kung Fu Academy. The event will also hold parent-child activities every weekend, including parent-child cooking classes, children's lion dance classes and STAR DIAMOND building block competitions.
Caring for Veterans charity project | The charity event raising funds for China's World War II veterans
