Chinese Mobile Users Face More Severe Security Challenges Than Ever, Reported CCTV

2011-04-20 23:01 2738

BEIJING, April 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CCTV, the national television broadcasting network owned by China's central government, today reported on its 5:00pm Live News Program that Chinese mobile users are facing more severe mobile security challenges than ever. According to the report, there are more than 850 million mobile users and mobile devices in China currently facing high risks of being infected by viruses and other malicious software. The report says that this growing concern has led China to become the most optimal market for a mobile security company to succeed.

In the report, Wang Yu-Quan, a market researcher focusing on the mobile security field, commented that due to the unique characteristics of the China mobile market, some mobile security issues are particularly popular in China. He pointed out that mobile security is not only an issue in China, it's also a global issue, so that once a Chinese mobile security company has the capability to effectively address mobile security issues arising in the China market, they are ready to service the overseas markets as well.

The report claimed that China is taking the lead in mobile security technologies in the world and in the report, NetQin Mobile Inc. was profiled as the leading mobile security company, which has managed both local and international success in terms of technology innovation, user base, geographic coverage as well as industry recognition in both domestic and international markets. NetQin's Cloud + Client architecture was also profiled in the report as a booster for the technological development of the industry as well as a key driver to deliver on-demand services to mobile users.

NetQin's CEO, Dr. Henry Yu Lin, was featured in the report, commenting on the industry. Dr. Lin said China is currently the biggest market for mobile security in the world, and many new challenges in mobile security arise from the China market. As long as Chinese mobile security service providers are able to address these security challenges, Dr. Lin said in the report, they should be able to copy the business model and deliver the services to the global market.
