BEIJING, July 19 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- CCID Consulting, China’s leading research, consulting and IT outsourcing service provider, and the first Chinese consulting firm listed in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Stock Exchange: HK08235), analyzed China’s UPS market in 2006 and explained why it holds an optimistic view of the market in the next 5 years.

CCID Consulting’s 2006-2007 Annual Report on China’s UPS Market shows that in 2006, a total of 1.279 million UPS sets were sold in China, up by 12.1% year-on-year. Sales revenues reached 2.61 billion Yuan, up by 8.3% year-on-year.

In 2006, China’s UPS market was still dominated by 40-60Kva products. 10Kva UPS followed closely behind. In terms of growth momentum, safer products that tailored to customers’ consuming habits have a brighter future.

As for regional market structure, East China has become a center of UPS consumption in China. East China, North China and South China see their UPS consumption notably higher compared to other regions. They are the consumption engines in the UPS market. Despite fairly big rises, consumption growth in Northeast, Central, Northwest and Southwest China is below the national average. This is positively related to such factors as economic level, degree of IT penetration, user cognition and consumption power in each region. The gap is expected to remain in the short term.

As for the application structure in horizontal markets, industry procurement has become a main source of market growth. The financial services, telecomm, government and manufacturing sectors become the main body of China’s UPS market, with a combined market share of some 70%. In the market of the financial services industry, sales revenues totaled 660 million Yuan, accounting for 25% of the overall market. In addition to four big state-owned banks, cross-region joint stock commercial banks also become a fresh force in 2006. Thanks to such promotional factors as 3G and IPTV, annual sales revenues in the telecom industry amounted to 690 million Yuan, accounting for a market share of 26.4%. Telecom industry is expected to have a significant jump in 2007, thus becoming the focused objective of many UPS manufacturers. With IT application deepening in different industries, UPS demand shows spreading trend. Demand in sectors (such as education and energy) whose market share was not high in the past grew fairly fast. Their share of the overall market also rose.

The brand pattern of China’s UPS market in 2006 may be measured by sales revenues -- through adopting such measures as redeploying product lines and developing new channels, APC claimed the top position in the market. While making full use of its inherent advantages in the telecom industry, Emerson strengthen channel building, expanded other industry-specific markets and got the 2nd place in the market. In addition, SANTAK and KSTAR also performed well and achieved rather big growth.

Thanks to a new rising round of the national economy and the improvement of upstream supply power, China’s UPS market will have a better external environment. Major progress will also continue to be made in important technological fields. CCID Consulting holds an optimistic view about China’s UPS market in the 5 years.
