Days Inn China Continues Country-Wide Expansion with Two New Management Hotels

2009-05-14 12:04 1146

BEIJING, May 14 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Despite the slowdown in the hospitality sector in the first quarter of 2009, Days Inn China (DIC) continues its expansion with the addition of two new management properties to its portfolio: the Days Inn Zhong Yin Yinchuan and Days Suites Changzhou. Together these properties, signed less than one month apart, raise the total number of Days Inn projects in China to 59.

Set amidst a city park and surrounded by greenery, the 100-room Days Inn Zhong Yin Yinchuan is located in Lingwu City and is scheduled to open in October 2009. This is the second Days Inn in Yinchuan; the hotel owner was drawn to partnering Days Inn China after seeing the success of the first Days Inn Business Place Yinchuan. The Days Inn Zhong Yin Yinchuan will be equipped with business and leisure facilities such as a spa, sauna and gym as well as banquet & conference facilities, cafe, hotel lounge, Chinese restaurant and billiard room. Among others, the hotel will target the extensive business traffic created by the city's coal industry and government conventions as well as tourists visiting the over 60 historical sites including mosques, pagodas, pavilions, temples, and imperial tombs.

The second new property is a 280-unit service apartment, the Days Suites Changzhou. It is the second Days Suites service apartment in DIC's portfolio, and is set to open in August 2012. The elegant Days Suites Changzhou boasts a wide array of facilities including banquet & conference rooms, cafe, hotel lounge, Chinese restaurant and gym.

When asked how these new properties tie into to the company's plans for the year, Days Inn China CEO, Harry Tan said, "Our strategy for 2009 is the same as 2008 -- to expand at a fast pace and extend the brand across the country even further. Apart from the nine cities, where we already have more than one hotel, we are starting to see a second property in many of the cities where we already have a presence; and that shows how the Days brand is becoming more valuable to asset owners and their properties. We continue to improve the performance of our existing hotels and also strengthen our corporate and service culture, which has always been our top priority. 2009 will be a challenging year for all hotel groups, but we are confident in our ability to grow and we see a great deal of potential for our group." The signing of these two new management properties underscores Days Inn China's leading position as the fastest growing mid-tier hotel group in China.
