A Visit to Maxi Yacht at Pingsha Industry Park

HONG KONG, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- On July 31st, Fairtheworld.com sent a reporting team to Pingsha Industry Park, Zhuhai, to visit Maxi Yacht. The visit was meant to highlight the HT70 high-speed luxury yacht, which is currently under construction there. Maxi Yacht's marketing director Ms. Liangbing and production director Mr. Vic Duppenthaler both sat for an interview. After the interview, reporters Bob Li and Jerry Wu introduced Fairtheworld's 3D media to Maxi, as well as its virtual expo business. Maxi was very interested in Fairtheworld and requested another meeting.

HT70 to become fastest 70-foot luxury yacht in Asia

Maxi is building a high-speed luxury yacht, the HT70. 70 feet in length and 50 knots in speed, it will become the fastest 70-foot luxury yacht in Asia upon completion. Maxi has devoted quite a lot to the development of this yacht, noted Mr. Vic. A full utilization of high-tech composite materials and a perfect pneumatic design have combined to offer 50 knots of speed, which is almost twice that of other similar-sized yachts. In addition, HT70's interior design is not designed for sporty speed; it is furnished with lightweight, high-stiffness composite materials, offering a luxurious interior environment to customers with minimum boat weight.

Mr. Vic showed the HT70 model to reporters. He pointed to the dynamic equipment at the stern and the special shape of the hull, and stressed that these special designs ensure good maneuverability while preserving its high-speed ability, like in the case of a top-class racing car.

When asked about whether the sample vessel has been sold, marketing director Ms. Liangbing explained that while the HT70 has not been completed yet, several prospective buyers are in contact with Maxi. The HT70 is designed for markets that already receive high-speed yachts, such as South Europe's Mediterranean coast, Florida and Australia. However, there have also been inquiries from several buyers from all across Europe.

Maxi acquiring Island Gypsy

Mr. Vic noted that Maxi is a new company that is grounded in the acquisition of Hong Kong Island Gypsy, a 30-year-old yacht brand. Maxi gained the 43- to 53-foot yacht production line from Island Gypsy. Maxi is currently developing Maxi High-tech Series of fast luxury yacht as it continues producing Island Gypsy's traditional American Exposition Yacht.

Targeting the Chinese market

As for the Chinese market, Ms. Liang believes that China's main contribution to the world yacht industry continues to be its cheap labor; however, China's rapid economic growth is fostering a yacht consumption market of its own. Just like the development course of auto industry, the yacht industry will be the next profit growth point, and Maxi is gearing up for this day.

Maxi is training and acquiring talent for its future, noted Mr. Vic. He personally has 40 years' experience in yacht making. He is now transferring his extensive yacht-building skills and project experiences to the vigorous young people at Maxi. As time passes by, these fledging youth will become yacht-building masters with rich experience, while Maxi as a whole will constantly improve, gaining an ever-greater competitive edge.

New brand selection starts from consumer cultivation

Maxi has been devoted to fostering markets and cultivating consumers. Ms. Liang told reporters that they held a series of saloons, to which they invited elites from various circles to go yachting. Such saloons enhanced people's understanding about yachts and expanded Maxi's brand influence. So far they have held many such saloons in Qingdao, Hainan, Shenzhen and other areas in 2009.

While speaking of the prospects of China's yacht market, Ms. Liang was quite confident. She believes that in the coming 5-10 years both China's yacht construction and consumption will improve significantly and will rank high in the international arena. Maxi will exert all its power to create a world-class yacht brand and grow along with China's yacht industry.
