Federation of Livestock Farmers' Association of Malaysia (FLFAM) to Support LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015 - Asia's Longest Running Feed, Livestock Production and Meat Expo

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federation of Livestock Farmers' Associations of Malaysia (FLFAM), the umbrella association representing the livestock industry across all of Malaysia, for the first time has confirmed their official support of LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015 to be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 21 - 23 September 2015. Lending sturdy support to the event, FLFAM recognises the benefit of sharing their insights, message and agenda at LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015 as the ideal platform to promote the message of healthy and profitable livestock in Malaysia.

 

Established 41 years ago, the Federation of Livestock Farmers' Associations of Malaysia (FLFAM) exists as a registered body in Malaysia with the aim to safeguard the welfare and interest of farmers, livestock producers and consumers. By liaising with regional livestock associations varying in types of livestock and supply chain steps and communicating regularly with the government agencies, FLFAM ensures the interest of the industry is considered in policy making with in tandem with the quality of its final products for consumption. The organisers of LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015 have worked extensively with FLFAM over the past few months to reach out to its members and the various farming communities across Malaysia, and to ensure their participation at the event as attendees.

Demand for livestock products is expected to rise significantly in tandem with the growth of the world's population which is predicted to reach 9 million by the year 2050, alongside rising health and safety concerns. By looking at genetics, waste reduction and prevention of diseases, livestock business are now able to efficiently manage production and meat quality requirements. Presenting at the seminar during LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015, the Federation of Livestock Farmers' Association of Malaysia (FLFAM) will cover topics such as Salmonella Enteritidis Infection: Control and Eradication and Novel Approach to Farm Productivity - Fly Control and Food Safety.

The expo which has been established for 14 years will host the participation of over 300 companies representing 32 countries this year. Also held during LIVESTOCK ASIA 2015 for the first time will be a scientific conference co-orgniased by the World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) and World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) of the Malaysia Branch. The two-day with the theme of "Enhancing Innovation in Poultry Health and Production" is aimed at fostering future collaboration in Poultry Production, Nutrition and Health.

Running alongside the exhibition will be three other industry-relevant events, ASIA MEATEC 2015 Expo and Forum, the 2nd World Veterinary Poultry Association and World Poultry Science Association (WVPA - WPSA) Scientific Conference, and the 8th Asian Livestock Industry Awards and Malaysian Livestock Industry Awards.

ASIA MEATEC 2015 which will take place on 22nd September at KLCC will include an exhibition and forum with a focus on meat from production, processing and packaging with an intensive showcase of knowledge and application of meat production. With the theme of "Enhancing Innovation in Poultry Health and Production", the 2nd WVPA - WPSA Scientific Conference will attract international veterinary professionals and industry heavyweights as speakers to discuss and debate over effective and efficient ways to poultry disease prevention, poultry housing, and breeding.
