RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Filtrona Fibertec (a
division of Filtrona plc) announced today that its plant in Ningbo China has
been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification for quality management systems
by BSI Management Systems, the world's leading international standards
testing, registration and certification organization. It was also announced
that the Ningbo plant will be expanded, more than doubling the size by mid
2007.

Filtrona Fibertec manufactures bonded fiber fluid control components
serving a variety of industrial and consumer markets including writing
instruments, medical diagnostics, ink jet printing systems, household and
related products.
The ISO certification quality assurance standards requirements include
procedural changes, special training, upgraded documentation and adjustments
to operating practices in a number of production processes. Incorporating
the ISO certification complements the existing registrations at Filtrona
Fibertec's other sites in North America and Europe.

It was also announced that Filtrona Fibertec will expand the Ningbo
plant. The plant is located in Ningbo (Zhejiang Province near Shanghai) and
was built in 2005. Construction will begin in late 2006 with the expansion
fully completed mid 2007. Plans include a significant increase of more than
double the size of production floor space and an expanded analytical
laboratory to support the technical service needs of the regional customer
base.
This expansion is being announced along with ongoing upgrades and capital
investment in both the Richmond, Virginia (USA) and Reinbek, Germany
facilities.
