Global Investors Favour Real Estate, Transportation and Infrastructure Companies in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Alpha Southeast Asia revealed the results of their fifth annual poll to find Southeast Asia's top companies conducted between February to June 2015. The awards are based on tallied votes among 520 investors, pension funds, equity and fixed income analysts with investment interests in the Southeast Asia region. Listed-companies in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines were ranked according to institutional investors' perceptions of their performance in financial management, corporate governance, integrated reporting and investor relations.

In Indonesia, six leading companies with the best perception among investors include real estate company Alem Sutera Realty, banking giants Bank Mandiri and Bank Negara Indonesia, emerging transport company Blue Bird, leading telecommunications player Telkom Indonesia and infrastructure investment company Wijaya Karya. 'Best CFO in Indonesia' for the fifth consecutive year went to Bank Mandiri's CFO, Pahala Mansury. While 'Most Improved Investor Relations' went to Wijaya Karya and 'Best Annual Report in Indonesia' went to Telkom Indonesia.

Unlike other polls, investors were also asked to name companies that did not meet their expectations. In Indonesia, they include Bumi Resources, Energi Mega Persada and Bukit Asam.

Across the region, the award for the Strongest Commitment to Sustainable Energy in Southeast Asia went to Thailand's leading integrated energy company Thai Oil for the fourth consecutive year. Best CFO in Southeast Asia went to Thai Bev's CFO Sithichai Chaikriangkrai.
