SHANGHAI, Sept. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hilton Worldwide has been voted the 2012 China Best Employer in the Hospitality/Restaurant Industry, in an award given out by ChinaHR.com, China's leading recruitment website. This is the second consecutive year that Hilton Worldwide has won the coveted award, demonstrating the success of the company's talent attraction and development program.

"Hilton Worldwide is proud to receive this accolade for the second straight year. The award recognizes our commitment to our staff and validates our investment in cultivating world class talent for China's hospitality industry," said David Osborne, senior vice president, human resource operations and development, Hilton Worldwide.

"China is one of Hilton Worldwide's most important markets outside the United States, where we have an ambitious goal of expanding from the current 29 to more than 100 hotels by 2015. Hilton Worldwide will continue to look out for ambitious, passionate and capable individuals, and groom them to support our accelerating expansion," added Lawrence Lee, vice president of human resources, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide.

Hilton Worldwide has established a comprehensive program in China to attract, develop and retain employees at all stages of their careers. Earlier this year, the company launched its Greater China and Mongolia Management Trainee Program. Under the program, promising current or recent graduates are offered positions in Hilton Worldwide, where they will be trained and groomed for future leadership roles within the company and its portfolio of properties. In addition, Hilton Worldwide has forged partnerships with leading hospitality colleges in China to offer top students internship opportunities with the company, where outstanding students could potentially secure jobs with Hilton Worldwide upon graduation.

Not only focusing on attracting fresh talent, Hilton Worldwide also invests heavily in training initiatives for their close to 12,000 staff in China. Promising talents are offered international career development opportunities and access to professional training and development across functions. A structured succession planning program is also in place to groom talents into more senior roles faster. To date, over 75 percent of its general managers in China are promoted internally. In addition, the company has also set up the Hilton Worldwide University, a global online training program that has delivered over five million training hours to more than 60,000 registered users worldwide.

"Talent is the key to our ability to compete in the dynamic economic environment.  By continuing to invest in attracting and developing talent we make an important contribution to the society while also giving our organization a competitive edge - delivering exceptional guest experiences," said Jason Soh, senior director, recruitment - Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.

Introduced in 2003, China's Best Employer is one of the most influential awards in China. This year's survey was based on the votes of nearly 50,000 students and young professionals from 764 universities and the general society in China.
