Inaugural "International Brain & Mind Expo" Ends on a High Note

A new generation of education stars arise

HONG KONG, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- An unqualified success, the first-ever International Brain and Mind Expo 2012 in Hong Kong was held from 2 to 5 February, 2012 at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre, attracting an enthusiastic crowd of over 1000 teachers, parents and students, attending keynote speeches, lesson demonstrations, individual or group sharing sessions, seminars, workshops and brain health energizing exercises.

Organised by the Institute of Brain and Mind Education which provides intensive "Brain-Based" & "Thinking-Based" training for Hong Kong teachers, parents and students, this premier event for brain and thinking-based education in the region explored the latest developments in Brain and Mind Education across its four-day events.

Interactive discussions and workshops help teachers and parents explore "New Education"

Internationally renowned experts including Mr. Eric Jensen, Dr. Daniel Amen, Prof. Robert Swartz and Prof. Arthur Costa were on hand to explore brain and thinking-based education and to demonstrate interactive education applications, providing local teachers an international perspective on rapidly developing new education strategies and connecting their understanding on how effective teaching or parenting positively changes learner's brain.

"Brain Knowledge and Brain Health Energizing Ceremony" attracts over 2,500 participants

Open to all, the Brain Health and Brain Knowledge Day, held on 4 Feb 2012, drew over 2,500 participants from across 28 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, including over 600 partaking from the general public. As a way to increase the awareness of neurological health and to promote a better understanding of brain science, participants exercised together to enhance brain knowledge and health and joined in keynote sessions on the developmental stages of the brain from 0 to 18 years of age and the important role that exercise and nutrition play in shaping a great brain.
