GUANGZHOU, China, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In early March, haze became a hot topic in the Chinese mainland, bringing public attention to environmental protection once again. Meanwhile, to support the global response to climate change and the theme of Earth Hour in China this year "Switch Off, Blue On", Infinitus, member of LKK Health Products Group (LKKHPG), launched the employee-oriented environmental protection program "BLUE up the Earth".
The program started with the photography competition "Capture the BLUE Together", which was followed by several activities including Earth Hour and release of LKK Health Products Group Electricity-Saving Brochure. These serial activities aimed to enhance employees' understanding and practices of CSR, and engage them in saving energy together with the company for environmental protection.
Capture the BLUE Together
The photography competition "Capture the BLUE Together" has attracted employees' active participation since its launch in mid-March. On 22 April, Earth Day, the final results of the competition came out with the photo themed in haze change in Guangzhou as the winner. The selection was based on two dimensions, employees' votes and the evaluation by the professional judge panel that comprised external consultants and co-workers with professional background in photography. The winner received the highest scores in both dimensions, which demonstrated employees' resonance with the haze problem.
Spend Earth Hour Walking
On the evening of 28 March, Infinitus organized the Earth Hour activity among its offices in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia between 20:30 and 21:30. Moreover, Infinitus called on its employees to spend the one hour walking, to practise the health philosophy advocated by the company "Daily Walk for 10,000 Steps" and experience the healthy lifestyle in person.
Share Tips to Save Electricity
In 2014, Infinitus organized the Electricity-Saving Tips Competition. After sorting out the 1,000-odd tips submitted by employees, Infinitus compiled the LKK Health Products Group Electricity-Saving Brochure, and launched it via internal BBS and official WeChat. This measure aims to popularize the electricity-saving knowledge among employees, motivate them to further share the brochure to family and friends, and invite more general public to utilize the methods recommended by the brochure and reduce energy consumption together.
Furthermore, from late April onwards, Infinitus employs its internal digital platforms to remind the employees in the four regions to switch off all electronic devices and lights when punching out. By doing so, the company aims to involve its employees in building a low-carbon office environment together for energy saving.
