International Business School Suzhou Signs MOU to Promote CSR in China

SUZHOU, China, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The role of corporate social responsibility in the future of China's evolving business environment was the topic attracting more than 80 executive members of the Suzhou Industrial Park's (SIP) Corporate Social Responsibility Alliance to gather at the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) last week. The conference, held at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), was jointly organized by IBSS and the SIP Publicity Spiritual Civilization Office.

Attendees included managers and industry representatives from China and worldwide, as well as members Suzhou government officials and professors from XJTLU.

IBSS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SIP CSR Alliance highlighting IBSS's commitment to developing integrity in business but also ensuring that the Business School provides a positive impact and meaningful contribution to society through its education, research and business engagement.

"IBSS has signed up to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education, and the signing of this MOU today is a major step in implementing some of the concepts and principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development," explained IBSS Dean Sarah Dixon. "We're very pleased to have collaboration with the SIP CSR Alliance and look forward to having a greater impact on the economy and society of SIP."

Mrs. Yao, Director of the SIP Publicity Spiritual Civilization Office, said that "We have gained some experience during the past years, but as for the future development in this area, this organization needs more support from relevant academic department.
