SINGAPORE, Feb. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Miaja Gallery will be launching its first design focused exhibition at its shophouse gallery in Newton Circus, during Singapore Design Week (SDW) 2016. The event is dubbed 'Miaja Gallery Design Fair' (MGDF), and is a ten-day exhibition that was curated to support international designers, by offering exhibition space at its gallery rent-free to its design partners during Singapore's most notable design week.
An official partner event of SDW 2016, MGDF will be a highly curated space which will showcase some of the best examples of design artistry, from bespoke Jewellery to Furniture and Installation Design.
Miaja Gallery will bring together such artisans from countries that strengthen the cultural link between both its native France and adoptive Asia. As such there will be an emphasis on French design, but will also exhibit several design works from Singapore, the Philippines and Spain. By providing this platform to support the exposure of international designers at a low cost during SDW, Miaja Gallery hopes to continue to elevate the profile of important, contemporary and artisanal design within Southeast Asia.
Miaja Gallery's sister company, Miaja Design Group, is a pioneer of stylistic Interior Design in the Singapore creative ecosystem for the past 20 years. With this experience, MGDF also hopes to demonstrate how one can live with Art and Design every day, and aims to be a new sourcing channel for like-minded design industry types, from Interior Designers and Architects, to Hoteliers and Developers.

Miaja Gallery has also planned a talk-discussion that will be held in their space during MGDF, titled "The Art of Interior Design" given by Isabelle Miaja, founder of Miaja Gallery and Miaja Design Group. She will be sharing insights on her international experience of Interior Design, elaborating on how she treats Design as Art and how central Art is to Miaja Design Group's philosophy.
Isabelle will also share her artistic inspirations from some of her signature projects that include the recently opened Sofitel So Singapore, Pullman Central Park Jakarta, Desert Palm Dubai, Centara Grand Maldives and Viceroy Maldives amongst many others.
