Digital Innovation Improves Healthcare

In healthcare, Mr Antonio Estrella, Founder and Managing Partner of LumenLab, MetLife's Innovation Centre for Asia, pointed out that mobile technologies and data are creating innovative ways to empower people to access better medical care, saving US$300b in overall US healthcare spending and created US$32b in new commercial opportunities. For example, an increasing number of medical records are being digitized and wearable technology has also given consumers the ability to track their health and fitness condition.

New Channels to Reach Consumers

As the industry goes down the digital path, Mr Daniel Ng, Vice President, Omni-Integra, shared that various data generating mediums such as smart devices, wearables, and industry scanners provide a wealth of information that can help enterprises better understand customers. He added that companies can use various digital channels such as social media and websites to connect with consumers.

Printing from the Cloud is More Secure

Digitization has also brought more security risks, especially when cloud printing on Multi-Function Printers (MFPs) enables printouts to be made at different locations.

Mr Jonathan Yeo shared, "We've seen a 30% increase in demand for authentication features in print management systems. As such, Konica Minolta's new MFPs are equipped with PIN, card, biometric or 2-factor authentication capabilities."
