POSCO Engineering & Construction Provides Medical Aid to Ha Tinh, Vietnam

1,500 patients treated in association with volunteers from Inha University Hospital and Incheon Yeongsu-gu Medical Association

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- POSCO Engineering & Construction (CEO Hwang Taehyun) provided family medicine, ophthalmologic, orthopedics and pain medicine services with medical supplies to 1,500 residents in three villages located in Ky Anh, Ha Tinh in Vietnam from August 6 through 8.

Inha University Hospital, Incheon Yeonsu-gu Medical Association and the Salvation Army Korea Territory worked together with local medical staff for this medical service program. Furthermore, students at the Department of Korean, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City provided help with translation. 

It's the 3rd year since POSCO E&C has provided medical aid in Vietnam and, for the first time, it has worked in association with a local hospital to provide an ophthalmological treatment service and helped 53 residents suffering from cataracts. This treatment has paved the way for it to provide a high quality and practical medical service with cataract patients in Vietnam.

POSCO E&C will continue to provide medical aid in cooperation with medical institutes in Incheon and promote this as its main CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program in Vietnam.
