Parkview Green FangCaoDi Named the Best Green Building in Asia

BEIJING, Nov. 12, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Parkview Green FangCaoDi, the only MIPIM Asia Award nominee from Beijing, has won this year's best "Green Building" award. This is the first time that a Chinese project winning the Green Building honour, demonstrating that the Beijing property market is not only booming, but is also taking an active role in building a greener future for China and the world. With its state-of-the-art technology and sustainable architectural design, Parkview Green FangCaoDi achieves a saving of up to 44% in energy use and 48% in water use. After a close competition, it was voted the winner in the Green Building category by MIPIM Asia delegates this year.

MIPIM Aisa is the most influential trade show in the Asia property market, and the MIPIM Asia Award honors outstanding real estate projects in 8 categories in the Asia Pacific region every year. Located in the heart of the CBD, Parkview Green FangCaoDi is not only the Green Building category winner at MIPIM Asia Award 2010, but also has been pre-certified LEED® Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the US Green Building Council. Upon completion, Parkview Green FangCaoDi aims to be China's first LEED® Platinum certified urban mixed-use development.

Parkview Green FangCaoDi comprises of four buildings enclosed by an environmental shield. This unique environmental shield is made of glass walls and an ETFE membrane system roof, and is controlled by an automated Building Management System. Parkview Green FangCaoDi is comprised of 80,000 m2 Grade A commercial business space, a 100 room boutique hotel and 50,000m2 of luxury retail. The environmental shield creates a microclimate inside the building, which tempers the extreme seasonal conditions found in Beijing, while at the same time reducing the overall energy consumption of the building.

Parkview Green was also able to recycle 81% of its construction waste material and 25% of its total building construction materials is made up of recycled content, fully demonstrating its commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint during construction.
