During the meeting, Mr. Hogan was keen to highlight the Company’s decision to launch an environmental project, named the Bottle-less Campaign. Each year, 40 billion gallons of bottled water are consumed worldwide; the plastic bottles used each year require 85 million barrels of oil to make and result in 9 billion pounds of plastic trash annually. The production and transport of these bottles creates 12 million tons of carbon dioxide each year. However, Pentair has realized the improvement and optimization of water quality as well as decreasing the use of bottled water by using Pentair water filter systems for commercial and public use will have a positive effect on environmental protection. In order to protect the environment and save resources, from now on, the Company will no longer provide bottled water, instead, all staff from more than 50 facilities, will be able to use drinking water directly produced by the Company’s product. To meet the sustainability of human development, Pentair Group has set environmental protection and resource conservation as a part of its corporate mission, resulting in a more focused effort to research and develop water treatment equipment.

Following the meeting, Mr. Hogan visited the World Financial Center, the tallest building in the world, which utilizes drinking water systems and swimming pool water treatment systems designed and provided by Pentair. The height of the World Financial Center is 492 meters, exceeding the Chinese Taipei 101 building (480 meters). As a new landmark of Shanghai, this building is an all-around architecture masterpiece. Employees of the World Financial Center expressed their pleasure and gratitude to Mr. Hogan and Pentair, commenting on the exceptionally clear swimming pool water and the high quality drinking water that is available at the World Financial Center as a result of the Pentair products.
