My Party Rocks Organises First Children's Party Showcase to Meet Growing Demand in S'pore

46% of parents too busy to organise children's birthday parties; 40% would hire party planners

SINGAPORE, Jan. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's party planning company, My Party Rocks is throwing its first ever Children's Party Showcase on January 18 and 19 to cater to the growing demand for children's parties in Singapore.

The event will be a 2-day showcase on January 18 and 19, from 10 am to 7pm at the Grandstand, 200 Turf Club Road. The event aims to give parents ideas on creative, yet affordable party concepts. The event will showcase party themes such as Princess, Superheroes, Pirates and many more. There will be a bouncy castle, games and free entertainment for all. Attendees will receive 15% off for on-the-spot bookings. Admission and parking is free.

In conjunction with the party showcase, My Party Rocks has also conducted its first ever children's party survey in January 2014. According to a survey of 100 Singaporean parents, 70% of parents say birthday parties are important for their children, yet 46% are too busy to plan them. Out of the parents that would throw birthday parties for their children, 54% of parents spend SG$401 to SG$800 on each birthday party. About 15% would spend $800 to $1,500 and 7% would spend over $1,500. Over 40% said they are open to hiring party planners to help organise birthday parties as they are too busy.

"Over the years we have seen the increase in demand for children's parties. This might have to do with rising wealth in Singapore and the ever increasing demand on parents' schedules," said Juliet Abdullah, Founder and Party Planner of My Party Rocks.

The Children's Party Showcase event will also see My Party Rocks working with The Grandstand and the Melrose Home. As part of The Grandstand's CSR efforts entitled WALK (We All Love Kids), 20 children from Melrose Home will attend the event and enjoy all activities such as facepainting, bouncy castle, balloon sculpting at no cost.
