SINGAPORE, Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SPARK Architects (SPARK), an international design studio with proven expertise in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture and interior design, today unveiled two of its latest architectural projects in Malaysia at the inaugural Cityscape conference and exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

To be featured prominently at the joint SPARK and the developer Nusmetro's stand, SPARK will showcase the two developments, with the under construction Arte S (please click the link of this project: http://www.sparkarchitects.com/work/artes#1), poised to be the tallest residential tower with 400 units in Penang, located at the base of Bukit Gambir, and the Arte MK, a three tower, 1100 unit development that's currently in planning stage situated at the edge of Mont Kiara and the heart of KL Dutamas.

Founding director of SPARK, Stephen Pimbley, said that Malaysia offers an exciting landscape for both developers and architects where innovative architecture is being realised by visionary developers like Nusmetro, who are working hard to differentiate their products to attract buyers, beyond the normal levers of location, tenure and size.

"With pending GST and other rising living costs putting off buyers from investing in property, savvy developers are focusing more on qualitative architectural designs as a competitive edge to appeal to an increasingly sophisticated and discerning real estate market. This is great news for companies like SPARK that with an award winning track record of architectural distinction on the regional and the international stage, SPARK is able to lift and contribute to the increasingly high standard of the built environment to compete with the rest of the world," Mr. Pimbley said.

SPARK's mission is to bring into the market a more thoughtful architecture that makes best use of urban space that supports a convivial, socially sustainable and comfortable, stylish life. Thomas Chan, head of Nusmetro, the developer behind the Arte S and Arte MK developments said that after being introduced to SPARK's portfolio, it was clear that the architectural firm shared the same design values and mission that Nusmetro seeks - one being the desire to create distinctive, environmentally friendly buildings to showcase Malaysia on the regional and international stage.

"What caught our attention in SPARK's portfolio aside from award winning work completed in Kuala Lumpur like Starhill Gallery KL (please click the link of this building: (http://www.sparkarchitects.com/work/starhill-gallery#1), SPARK had also designed and successfully executed One Mont Kiara and the recently opened iKON Connaught in KL. However when SPARK showed us their work on the Shanghai International Cruise Terminal, we were blown away by how beautifully designed the building is, the distinctive restaurant pods became a reference for the sky lounge in our Arte S development which the residents will be able to experience and enjoy in approximately 18 months from now," Mr. Chan said.

Internationally SPARK is known for having designed the Clarke Quay Redevelopment in Singapore, Raffles City Beijing, Raffles City Ningbo, the Shanghai International Cruise Terminal, Rihan Heights in Abu Dhabi, and Paragon City in Indonesia.
