World-Renowned Swimmers Michael Phelps and Katie Hoff Among the Visitors
SHANGHAI, China, April 18 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- In the spirit of the “2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games” and to promote social awareness, St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai and Special Olympics International jointly organized a visit to Pudong Special Needs School on April 13. World-renowned swimmers Michael Phelps and Katie Hoff, officials of Special Olympics International, as well as Mr. Charles Abbott, General Manager of St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai, were among the visitors.
At the event, students of Pudong Special Needs School and Charles Abbott, General Manager of St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai presented special gifts to Michael and Katie. Five Judo athletes representing China for the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games demonstrated Judo to the audience. The visit ended with a friendly basketball game between Michael, Katie and students from the school.
