SINGAPORE, June 5 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Streetdirectory.com, Singapore's top travel and mapping portal as ranked by Hitwise, has unveiled an innovative approach to location based business directories. Users will now be able to search for business services, properties, restaurants and jobs by location using Streetdirectory's state-of-the-art mapping system and unique user interface not seen in other map portals.
New features released will further cement Streetdirectory.com's position as a leader in online map services. With 163 million page views monthly, the portal is already offering comprehensive mapping and travel content to over 2.5 million unique visitors per month.

Comprehensive Directory
Drawing from the huge database of business listings, users can now find virtually any business, anywhere within Singapore according to their preferred location. Under the four channels of Businesses, Restaurants, Properties and Jobs, over 3,000 sub-categories are neatly organised to carry the 127,000 unique business listings which are ready to be displayed on the map at a mouse-click. Alternatively, when "Listing View" is selected, users can browse these classified listings in alphabetical order, view details and find their desired location. The ever popular Images, Travel Guide and Directions have been further enhanced under this release.
New and Unique Features
Ground breaking features have been added to ensure even more efficient location or business searches:
-- Static Page -- Dynamic Display
Annoying page changes associated with web browsing are now history for
Streetdirectory. Under the new user interface, consecutive searches
are displayed dynamically without changing a page.
Streetdirectory.com's advanced use of technology enables results to be
shown instantly.
-- Lock & Zoom
From the wide map view, users can move the mouse pointer to pin-point
any location and zoom in using the scroller or double-click
continuously. The Streetdirectory engine will lock on to this
location, zoom in and enlarge it accurately without moving all over
unlike other map portals.
-- Drag & Display
This unique feature enables a user to select a category e.g. "Banks"
only once for the results to be shown on the displayed area. If the
user drags the map to a different location, the corresponding markers
for "Banks" will change and display dynamically as the area changes.
Likewise, the listings on the left side of the map showing the names
of these establishments will also change accordingly.
-- In-the-face Promotion
When viewing a selected category's business locations on the map,
a user may move his cursor over a priority listing marker (indicated
by a number) resulting in the related banner from this company to
immediately appear on the top left hand corner. If the user then
moves his cursor over this banner, an information page about the
company will appear replacing the map. Streetdirectory.com believes
that this innovative creation will deliver exceptional promotional
impact for its priority listing customers.

Additional content such as restaurant reviews, images of landmarks and
public bus numbers can now be accessed when clicking on the various
icons. Under the 'Properties' category for example, users can find all
properties for sale or rent by searching under a particular location
or district. All available offers are displayed at a glance on the map
and instant information available by clicking the location markers.
Free Use of Maps
Streetdirectory maps can now be used for business or recreational purposes at no cost by downloading widgets containing map and building images. Users can also download widgets giving step by step driving directions to anywhere in Singapore. These maps can be easily emailed to anyone or printed out for personal use.
