The Fifth World Hakka Merchants Conference held at Meizhou from November 13 to 15

MEIZHOU, China, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fifth World Hakka Merchants Conference was held at Meizhou from November 13 to 15. It received more than 1,000 Hakka merchants and guests from 28 countries and regions across the world as well as 20 provinces and municipalities in China, according to the Publicity Department of the CPC Meizhou Municipal Committee.

The Conference, themed with "facilitating development by further opening up and winning in the future by means of innovation," was aiming to grasp new development opportunities, seek for new dynamics, and expand new development space. Efforts were made to engage Hakka merchants in the innovation-driven development strategy and the "Belt and Road" initiative for development in the spirit of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.

At the conference, a framework agreement of "jointly constructing the green homeland and sharing the green development" was signed with respect to the cooperation in the former Central Soviet Area at the intersection of Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces. It aims to promote the exchange and cooperation in such fields as green industries, transport, urban and rural areas, and ecology, and to realize the socio-economic development along with the environmental protection.

To positively facilitate the eco-financing innovation as well as the sustainable growth, the Green Development and Investment Fund of the Former Central Soviet Area in Guangdong was set up at the Conference. It will be funded jointly by the provincial government and the relevant municipal governments, with a planned scale of ten billion yuan, including the first installment of one billion yuan, providing project service and financial support for industrial development and infrastructure constructions in this area.

To successfully implement the innovation-driven development strategy, expand the opening-up to the outside world and construct the new systems for an open economy, the World Hakka Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and the World Hakka Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base were set up at the Conference, providing the excellent young people worldwide with a good platform to promote the commercialization of research findings and the innovative growth.

And, a series of activities were staged to honor Hakka academicians, and inspire the Hakka chambers of commerce, associations and enterprises at home and abroad to pay close attention to Guangdong and invest here.
