West China Hospital of Sichuan University Ranks No. 2 for Seven Consecutive Years On China Best Hospital List

CHENGDU, China, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 13, 2016, the Diversified Hospital Specialty Construction Forum & 2015 China Best Hospital Ranking List Press Conference was held by the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University in Shanghai. The list is recognized as the most authoritative of its kind as it has been reviewed by 3,969 famous domestic experts from 37 clinical specialties invited by the institute.

Cheng Jingqiu, vice head of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, also attended the conference together with representatives of relevant functional units and clinical departments.

In 2016, by winning a total score of 88.257 on the 2015 Integrated Ranking List of China Best Hospitals and a total specialty reputation score of 319.70 on the 2015 China Best Medical Specialty Reputation Ranking List, West China Hospital of Sichuan University has ranked No. 2 for seven consecutive years in these two selections.

Among the 34 specialties (without oral medicine, gynecology & obstetrics, and pediatric internal medicine) of West China Hospital of Sichuan University included in the selections, anesthesiology has ranked first for seven consecutive years, and radiology second.

Among the specialties in third place are pathology, neurosurgery, urinary surgery, gerontology, ultrasound medicine, and emergency medicine. 16 specialties are among the top five and 27 are in the top 27 in these lists. Besides this, five specialties have been nominated.

In 2016, West China Hospital of Sichuan University won first place among all hospitals in southwest China on the 2015 Integrated Regional Hospital Ranking List (for evaluation of general capabilities of hospitals in different regions) and the 2015 Regional Hospital Specialty Ranking List (for evaluation of hospital specialties in different regions) by gaining full marks of 100. Among its 34 specialties included in the selections, 30 rank first, and four (pediatric surgery, orthopedic surgery, burn surgery, and clinical pharmacy) rank second.
