World Bosai Forum/International Disaster and Risk Conference 2017 to Be Held in Sendai, Japan, on November 25-28

SENDAI, Japan, Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The First World Bosai Forum/International Disaster and Risk Conference is going to be held from November 25 to 28, 2017, in Sendai, Japan. -Public Cultural Event, November 25:

Disaster risk reduction activities of the young generation will be presented. Performances of folk arts and music which have played important roles in the recovery of disaster areas will be provided. The audience will be able to experience the vitality of Tohoku which was severely damaged by the disaster but has been recovering.

-Sessions, November 26-28:

Approximately 50 sessions will be held. Diverse experts from industry, government, academia and private sectors will discuss the latest disaster-related issues and propose solutions for disaster risk reduction. Topics include AI, drones, a disaster statistics global database, mental health, nursing, investment, gender, nuclear energy, marine ecosystems, assessing tsunami damage, volunteer activities, and more.

-Study tours/excursions, November 26-29:

Participants will see how disaster areas have been recovered, and how society is building back better. Excursions will offer opportunities to enjoy the beautiful coastal areas of Tohoku.
